This latest tablet offering from Dell is officially the first phone-cum-tablet to support 4G connectivity. Now, before you begin salivating at the blistering pace at which you could download the entire back catalog of Phil Collins, we must remind you that 4G won’t be coming in the air tonight in the UK until late 2012 at the earliest.
Not to worry: there are plenty of other features to be getting on with, from dualcore gaming to full Flash support and HD video recording, and the price is pretty reasonable, too…1. SCREEN
The seven-inch screen is considerably bigger than the smartphone-sized original Streak. The 800×480 resolution is adequate for its size, if not exactly jaw-dropping
2. DUAL CAMERAS
A 1.3-meg cam up front and a five-meg one with flash and autofocus out back
3. FLASH
There’s full Flash support, so you have access to the whole web, not just the bits Apple approve of. Burn!
4. DUALCORE
Nvidia’s 1GHz dualcore Tegra 2 processor makes multitasking a breeze and gaming a greater pleasure
5. SUPER STRENGTH
Gorilla Glass – yes, really keeps the screen safe from scratches, scrapes and crushing by hippos
6. STORAGE
There’s 16GB of internal storage, plus SD. MMC and SDHC card slots
7. UPGRADE-ABILITY
The Streak 7 is shipped with aging Android 2.2 OS, but Dell’s Stage software will upgrade automatically when an OS update becomes available
8. WORK ON THE GO
There’s full support for Microsoft Exchange email and calendars, so you can carry the office with you
9. COMPATIBILITY
Sync with other Stage-equipped devices – got a Dell PC or laptop?-and share photos, contacts and calendar details
10. PRICE
£299 for a future proofed Android tablet? Sounds like some kind of a deal to us.
